Once a year rely on others

7th of July was Tanabata, the night of seventh, celebrating the meeting of Altair and Vega in the Milky way. In Japan we write wishes on a paper slip and tie it to bamboo trees. Nowadays only kids do that normally, but I still do by myself, mostly in my room, alone^, because this is a good opportunity to make wishes, or rely upon others.

I barely rely on others, waiting for something happen spontaneously(of course I ask a lot of things to others, but when I do so I make efforts in order to get things done, as everybody does). Even though I go to church almost every weekend, I haven't believed in God so far (I need to insist I don't mean people who believe in religions only rely on others). So Tanabata is a good chance once a year, to relax and optimistically think about what I want in the future.

Basically you can wish for anything you want. 5 years ago I wished "stomachful of pudding" and later that was realized by friends who saw the slip wishes were wrote on!! But unfortunately after that, no wishes haven't been realized yet. My wish this year doesn't depend on others at all...it was about myself, about my academic achievement, I can't avoid writing about it at this situation. Even though before I finally wrote down, I thought of various things that I can just wait for them to happen: parents and siblings' health, another nice desserts, and happiness of friends esp. the one I adore.

PS. Since I'm in U.S., I added English part on my wish slip just in case stars in sky upon America can't understand Japanese...
