Is API open for Android's Google Sky Map ?

As many people already posted comments on the internet, Google's Sky Map is awesome. It fully utilizes G-1's magnetosensor to synchronize the gradient of the phone itself with the sky.
(Demonstration video on youtube.)

I'm wondering if I can put layer on the Sky Map that shows more objects up in the sky but I haven't found API for Sky Map. I've also sent an e-mail directly to the developer's company address I happened to find, but he's on vacation until the end of August (I almost forgot this is western world! Vacation is month long for some people.)... Let me know if there is one.
(Irrelevant to today's topic) Cicada at my apartment. Size and how it looks are similar to tsuku-tsuku-bo-shi we have in Japan.

Hi Isao,
I'm probably the developer you're talking about (at least, I'm a Sky Map developer and I *am* on vacation, sadly only for two weeks). If you're in a hurry try android-apps+skymap@google.com and one of the other devs may contact you. Otherwise, I'll get back to you in a week.

Thank you very much Jon. Looks like you might not really be having a vacation yet...
I'll send e-mail to the address you mentioned though I'm not in that hurry, since I assume it may be a little more "official" way to ask questions.
# I'm curious how you found both of my real name and my blog, but I don't care...(you might have looked at the e-mail I've sent).
