Failed to attend; Monthly Meetings : INCOSE North Texas

Monthly Meetings : INCOSE North Texas: "- Sent using Google Toolbar"
First time after I became a student member of INCOSE (INternational Council On Systems Engineering) a few months ago, I got interested in participating in the Monthly meeting which has been held simultaneously in various regions all over the world. Luckily here in North Texas, there are some engineering companies that hold the meeting venue, especially Bell Helicopter and Lockheed Martin are only 20 minutes drive, so I tried to attend. But it turned out both companies need 3 to 5 days to process a visitor (non-employee) request for me. Obviously it was too late for me to have asked today about an entrance. I've never experienced this type of regulation in Japan, or even in US when I visited some companies/research institutes office, but at the same time it makes sense since both companies are strongly related to military. Anyway, just keep it in mind if you're trying to attend a meeting held in a company that require visitor's pass. I don't feel that I'm rejected because I'm not a citizen/resident.
