Stuck a lot at re-installing Ubuntu netbook ediiton to Starling Star3

Thanks to careful supports from folks on ubuntuforums.org, I finally managed to run properly Ubuntu 10.04 on my newly bought netbook.
Here are some reports on the problems occurred.

"GNOME Power Manager configuration has not been installed correctly" on Star3

Can't boot from LiveUSB on star3

No IP connection via Wireless I/F

Shot glasses are taller in the bar I went to in Tokyo than what I'm used to here in Texas.
