To obtain lifetime alumni e-mail account at SMU
Our school may not automatically create your alumni account and provide information about it to you (correct me if wrong...since I skipped all the graduation events :P). And what's much more awful is the e-mail address will go get deleted 1 year after graduation, meaning I have to change all my contact info where I use my @smu.edu address, in addition to that I wouldn't have any measure to stay connected to school and people that is officially maintained by the school.
But looks like there's still a hope; they provide e-mail address for explicit alumni. You need following steps as far as I've figured out. Though tricky as it may seem, I feel it's nice to have an e-mail account that is still in their official domain (e-mail address will be @alumni.smu.edu).

- Step-1. Request your SMU's alumni web site account here. They will make yours in a few business day (as they claim); http://smu.edu/alumni/directory/help.asp
- Step-2. Once you're notified that they've made yours, follow instruction that should be included in the same e-mail. Fill in basic info on the web site if you want.
- Step-3. Open "Manage" under "E-mail Forwarding" on the menu item list that should be shown on the left on alumni's web site. Or just click this URL https://perunanet.net/default.aspx?page=EmailForwardEdit
- Step-4. Follow the instruction.
