Selection for VPN service from Japan to the US
Out of the comparison list of VPN services, today I chose boxpn.com (in order to mainly watch ABC from Japan). Out of the multiple servers they operate in the US, I found that the one in Atlanta, GA works way faster for me than any others including several of those on west coast. Now I can watch GMA with minimum frustration so I'll keep using it and see if boxpn.com is enough/the best.
6/6/2013 Update) Today the throughput portfolio is completely different from what I've seen above...downlink via Atlanta became below 1.0 Mpbs whereas that through Dallas shows 8.0 Mbps. Hmm we need an intelligent way to figure out which access point is the fastest every day before starting the usage.
Some comparison; server venue, downlink (Mbps) ============ Atlanta; 4.7 Dallas; 0.8 LA-1; 1.0 San Jose; 1.8 Phoenix; 1.0
(Without VPN, the computer used can yield 30+ Mbps)
